"Fragments of Amantea" (2023)
Personal Project: In September 2022, I attended Kino Guarimba, a film residency in the Southwest coast of Italy. There, I collaborated with a handful of filmmakers and edited several short films. As an icebreaker to the program, I led a skateboarding and Super8 filming workshop, where all Kino attendees were invited to try both out.
This short includes fragments of interviews with attendees. Everyone was asked the same two questions: what does community mean to you? and, where to you find community? The skateboarding footage was recorded on Tri-X Super8 and was caffenol developed using local Italian coffee. It was fixed for three days in Tyrrhenian seawater.
Footage was assembled to an instrumental cut of BOjM's "I Remember, Clouds", which was done by Elastic Stars Productions.
